Shine On Creatives
Rumi also wrote many poems in his lifetime, they are all truly works of art. All of his writings have a rhythm that draws you in and leaves you hanging on each word as if it's the most important thing you will ever hear.
A Star Without a Name
When a baby is taken from the wet nurse,
it easily forgets her
and starts eating solid food.
Seeds feed awhile on ground,
then lift up into the sun.
So you should taste the filtered light
and work your way toward wisdom
with no personal covering.
That's how you came here, like a star
without a name. Move across the night sky
with those anonymous lights.

Here I think Rumi is telling us that, like all living things, we come into this world without a name. We are without identity, then as we mature we join the stars of others who came just the same as us. Every once and a while, we name a star. We give the star identity. However, we are not the ones that are giving the star identity, we look up at the star and see the identity it made for itself. We just pointed it out.
Come, come, whoever you are.
Wonderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
It doesn't matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow
a thousand times
Come, yet again, come, come.

This is found in his work,
"Look! This is Love". I really enjoy how he is inviting his visitor in, not only to his group, but into his heart. He is saying your past doesn't matter, I will accept you, and care for you no matter your condition.
We are the flute, our music is all Thine;
We are the mountains echoing only Thee;
And movest to defeat or victory;
Lions emblazoned high on flags unfurled-
They wind invisible sweeps us through the world.

This is a poem dedicating his praises to Allah, he is proclaiming his sumbission to him and offering himself and his work to Allah. His dedication to his god, inspires me to dedicate more to my God. Rumi writes in a truly artistic fashion that makes for interesting comparisons between physical and spiritual things.
